The 2017 St. Theresa
Thanksgiving Service Walk
Date: Tuesday, November 21
Time: 12:00 Noon-St. Theresa Church - walk to Ost Field after the noon service
Each Thanksgiving, St. Theresa School sponsors a drive and service walk to aid women and their babies. This year, we are collecting items and walking to support Aid for Women Pregnancy Help Centers and Residential Programs. Founded in 1978 on the faith and teachings of the Catholic Church, Aid for Women helps thousands of women each year in the Chicago metropolitan area who find themselves facing unexpected and difficult pregnancies. Each woman is provided with the emotional, practical and spiritual support she needs to choose life for her unborn baby and to provide a better future for her and her child. Aid for Women's life-affirming services are offered to clients free-of-charge and include:
- Compassionate Counseling
- Pregnancy Tests and Ultrasound Exams
- Earn While You Learn (EWYL) Program
- Parents-to-Be Support Groups
- Residential Programs
- Baby Item Boutique
- Medical and Community Referrals
Aid for Women operates five pregnancy help centers and two residential programs throughout Chicagoland and locally at Maryville Academy in Des Plaines.
Parents are encouraged to come to pray with us and then walk with us to Ost field. Students will be dismissed for Thanksgiving right after the walk. I hope you can join us!
