The Principal’s October Communiqué

Dear Parents,

There is much activity at STS as our school community moves toward Catholic Schools Week.  For your convenience, please find a brief synopsis below:

Roman Catholic Dogma

• The 6^th grade Timberlee overnight/retreat was quite successful and spiritually rewarding.
• Preparation is well underway for 2^nd grade reconciliation.
• There will be an all School Mass, February 3 – 8:00 AM, join us if you are able.
• Community Service Day is January 31^st – the children will put their Catholicism into practice.

Superior Quality Education

• Our computer lab has 32 new flat panel monitors.  It really looks crisp and the children are really enjoying it.
• We now have a complete and quality Learning Resource Center (a.k.a., LRC).  Please come and visit!
• St. Viator entrance exam was held on January 14^th and 22 of our 8^th graders tested.
• The new STS Website should be up in February.
• Please visit and support our Annual Book Fair this Sunday through Wednesday.
• Open House is on Sunday, January 29^th.  Join us for 11:30 AM Mass, followed by classroom visits with your child(ren) and their teachers, from 12:30 – 2:00 PM.  Keep in mind that EVERYDAY is OPEN HOUSE!!!
• Our new staff additions for the current school year, Ms. Zarob and Mrs. Sladky, have formed a successful science team.

Student Safety

• Please help us keep your children safe on the buses.  Recently there have been a few bus concerns, I encourage you to talk to your children regarding bus safety, rules and respect for others.
• Once again, STS had a speedy exit from school during the January monthly fire drill.  In less than 1 minute and 15 seconds, everyone exited the building.

A final thought – PLEASE tell someone about the good news of STS!  I need your help.  In order to meticulously prepare the STS budget, it is mandatory for me to have actual “in-house registration” numbers.  If you plan to have your child return to St. Theresa School, PLEASE officially register this week or on Sunday between 12:30 – 2:00 PM.
