Dear Parent,

CONGRATULATIONS, GABBI VRABLIK

Gabbi Vrablik was chosen as “Kid of the Week” by Steve Cochran at WGN Radio.  She was interviewed on Wednesday, November 6.  This opportunity recognizes a young person who has done something for others above and beyond the usual service expectations.  Mrs. Wilk submitted Gabbi’s name for consideration; the letter she wrote on Gabbi’s behalf was read over the radio.  Thank you, Mrs. Wilk, for recognizing student leadership at STS.  Congratulations, Gabbi; you are truly a role model for others at STS and the community at large.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 20, and Friday, November 21, in the afternoon and evening.  Most families signed up for a specific time at the Open House.  Teachers will be sending reminder notes for your appointed time.  If you are unable to make the conference as scheduled, please contact the teacher to reschedule after Thanksgiving break.  There will be bus service on Thursday and Friday.  Our dismissal time is 11:45 AM for K-8.  Preschool will dismiss at 11:00 AM.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE INFORMATION FOR GRADES 6-8

On Monday, November 10, all 6-8 graders will take home a conference planning sheet.  Whether a teacher of a parent is requesting a conference or no conference is required, please sign and return that sheet by Wednesday, November 12.  Conferences will then be scheduled and parents will be notified by Friday, November 14.

VETERANS’ DAY ASSEMBLY

Our Veterans’ Day Assembly will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at 1:15 PM in the church.  Parents, grand- parents, and family members who are military veterans are invited to join in this day of remembrance.  All Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are invited to wear their Scout uniforms to school on that day.

Families, don’t forget to send back your veteran stars!  We would like to honor all our family members who have served our country on our bulletin board in the hall.
