2017-2018 School Information Packet

Are you ready for a
history making year at
St. Theresa School?!?

Dear Parents,

It has been a WILD summer here at STS but the building renovation is winding down and our growing staff is itching to get in and set up their brand new classrooms.  At the request of the donors, every inch of the building was touched by the renovations and it is stunningly beautiful - an environment fit for a St. Theresa School Christian Scholar!

When you come in next week, the teachers will have only been in the building a few hours.  Their classrooms will be clean and unpacked, but there will probably not be bulletin boards up or other decorations typical in our classrooms.  We are focusing on getting the basics up to meet the students on Friday and start school on Monday.  We will complete the decorating in the weeks to come.

The information below covers the parent nights and the first day of school.  Please give utmost attention and use solid close reading strategies to read this memo very carefully, all the way to the end!

One consistent request I have received from you regarding Preschool and Curriculum Night is more time with the teachers!  To facilitate this, we are going to try something new.  Next week you will be receiving another email that contains my Principal's Presentation in a narrated Power Point.  I encourage you to watch it when it comes so you can hear in detail all that is going on and some procedures you need to be aware of for the year.  On Curriculum Night, my presentation will be VERY short so you can spend more time with your child(ren)'s teachers and tour the building. I ask that you please not bring children (other than infants) to Preschool or Curriculum Night so we can have the time to be grownups together and so the kids can all see the building at the same time on Friday.

Among the many cool developments this summer, we are working on launching on online payment system for Curriculum Night!  The BSJ and the Parents Association have been working on this for over a year and are excited to bring this convenience to STS.   Please read the introductory letter and check list from the PA and watch for specific instructions on using the new STS Online Shopping Cart rather than filling out forms and writing checks on Curriculum Night!

Please review the information below...all the way to the end...and, if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Soby and she will help you out!!   We are all so excited to see you and for you to see our beautiful new building!!

K-8th PARENT CURRICULUM NIGHT!
Thursday, August 24 at 3:30 and 6:00 pm.

Curriculum Night starts in O'Brien Hall with a brief - a VERY brief - presentation by the principal.  Parents will then have the opportunity to move to the school building and meet their child(ren)'s teachers.   There are two identical sessions - one at 3:30 and a repeat session at 6 pm. This allows families with multiple children to see all their children's teachers as well as complete the necessary sign ups.   Please park in the Dolan or school lot and enter through Door 1 or in the Benton Lot and enter through Door 4.  Again, please remember, this is for parents only -  no children other than infants are allowed at this meeting this year!

In addition to hearing the principal and meeting your child(ren)'s teachers, you will also have the opportunity to:
  • Sign-up for volunteer activities
  • Choose after school activities
  • Visit the Used Uniform room
  • Order Special Lunches
  • Turn in forms
  • Sign-up for STEP
MEET THE TEACHER DAY
